1. What makes your sport special?
Since I have focused particularly on marathons in recent years, I would limit myself to that. What I particularly like about it is that all runners are equal. Whether you are an Olympic champion or a hobby runner, you stand at the same starting line, run the same course, and are equally cheered on by everyone. This doesn't happen in any other sport.
2. What does an ideal day look like for you?
Lots of walking, lots of eating, and exploring a new city or a new country.
3. What kind of job would you probably be doing now if sports hadn't worked out?
I am studying medicine, but I am extending my studies in favor of training. In the end, I would like to be a psychiatrist.
4. What motivates you to get up every day?
For me, running is a privilege, and I am glad to be able to practice this sport in this way. Nevertheless, there are also difficult days. It helps me the most to arrange training sessions with training partners. It's always easier in a group. Otherwise, it motivates me to get the maximum out of myself. But also the social factor: you meet so many great people who motivate each other. The beautiful places I get to visit on the side are, of course, also a very nice side effect that increases motivation.
