Ready - Set - Go: Louise Wieland
In hardly any other sport do a few milliseconds make the difference between success and failure as much as in the short-distance disciplines of athletics. But it is precisely this thrill on the starting block that makes Louise's sport so special. So it's hardly surprising that she could have imagined working for the police when she was younger. What does Louise do when she's not on the track? You can find out more in the following lines.
"I love using my reboots (...). It helps me to recover well when I've really exhausted myself in my training/competitions."

Louise in the interview
1. what sport do you do and how did you get into it?
I do athletics in the short sprint discipline, i.e. 100m and 200m. When I was seven years old, I saw an international competition on TV and told my parents that I wanted to do it too. A few weeks later, I had my first competition.
2. What makes your sport special?
The combination of speed and the feeling of having to deliver to the point always provides a thrill that makes the short sprint so special.
3. What has been your greatest sporting success to date?
The world championships with the 4x100m relay team, where I came 6th this year, were very special for me, but the German championship title in the 200m indoors was also a highlight.
4. How do you deal with the "hole" after a big competition?
In addition to physical recovery with relaxed exercise, yoga and physio, mental recovery is also important to me in order to recharge my batteries. That's why I like to meet up with friends or read a good book to switch off mentally.
5. What is your hobby outside of sport?
I like to meet up with friends, read crime novels and cook new recipes.
6. What motivates you to get up every day?
Apart from my studies, I look forward to the training itself because we are a great training group that always motivates me to push myself to the limit. In addition to the group, the goals for the next season, with a European Championship and the Olympic Games, are also a great motivation.
Fun Facts
Off to a desert island - what three things do you take with you? A flint to keep you a little warmer in the evening and to make food. A tent to protect me from the wind and weather. Crime novels to distract me a little
Who is your biggest role model? I don't really have a role model, but I find Allyson Felix's running style impressive.
When I'm not training, you can find me... with my family or my friends. What other "secret" is there about you? As a child, I wanted to join the SEK police force.
Everything about recovery
1. What does the perfect recovery look like for you?
Especially after hard tempo running units, I like to go into the ice bath first and then into the reboots. After other sessions, I also like to roll out and do a bit of yoga. Of course, good nutrition and enough sleep are also important after hard sessions.
2. When do you prefer to use your reboots?
After hard tempo running sessions, the reboots really help to get your legs fit again more quickly.
3. how important is the topic of "regeneration" for you?
Regeneration is essential, especially in competitive sport, in order to be able to deliver in training and in competition. That's why I always try to take time for regeneration after the actual training sessions in order to optimally prepare the body.
4. What is your insider tip for using the reboots?
I like to use the Intense Pulse program relatively soon after the training session for 30–45 minutes. You have to choose the pressure intensity individually, depending on what is comfortable for you.
5. What do you do while you are in the reboots?
If I have time, I like to read a book or watch a series, otherwise I also use the time to do a bit of work for university.
6. what does the perfect day look like for you?
A training session in the morning, preferably a technical session, followed by some regeneration with physio and reboots and then a relaxing afternoon with a series or a book and cooking with friends in the evening.
Even though some professional athletes have already recognized that regeneration is an important factor in achieving their performance goals, many athletes are still not sufficiently enlightened.
