1. How did you get into windsurfing and what makes it so special?

The connection with nature is simply unique - I think that was what made me do it.

2. As a former world champion you are used to success. But how do you deal with the "hole" after a big competition?

Usually I try to make an evaluation as quickly as possible, to make new goals / plans and only then do I go into relaxation mode.

3. What does an ideal day look like for you?

Surf the web, have a long brunch with friends, work on a creative project, make a campfire and watch the starry sky. So that would be an ideal vacation day for me .

4. With which person would you like to swap days? Why?

With one of the pro surfers who can surf really big waves to know what that feels like.

5. Who is your biggest role model and why?

I don't have a specific person there. I only let myself be inspired by individual characteristics of others. I think we can each only become the best version of ourselves.

Fun Facts

Everything about recovery

1. What does the perfect regeneration look like for you?

Healthy eating, reboots, stretching, good sleep.

2. When is your favorite time to use your reboots?

Mostly in the evening after a long day or on days when I have double training, but also between training sessions.

3. What is your insider tip when using the reboots?

I like program D best and have now gotten used to strength 12. Most of the time I'm in the boots for about 45 minutes before I go to sleep. However, I have already used the boots for several thigh bruises and noticed a positive effect on regeneration and healing. For this I used program A at a very low pressure level. In combination with ice and rest, I can highly recommend this for light muscle bruises.

4. What are you keeping busy with while you're in the reboots?

In the beginning I often took a book with me, but most of the time I was too tired to read and just didn't want to do anything. If all you do is feel the boots, I find the session to be like a meditation. If I've lit a few candles beforehand and played some calm music, I always find the reboots session to be a kind of reward for my body.
