Louise Wieland

“I love using my Reboots (…). It helps me recover well when I have exerted myself a lot during my training/competitions.”

In hardly any other sport do a few milliseconds determine success and failure as much as in the short-distance disciplines of athletics. But it is precisely this thrill at the starting block that makes the sport so special for Louise. Therefore, it is hardly surprising that she could have imagined a career with the police in her younger years. What does Louise do when she is not on the track? You can find out more about that in the following lines.

Fun Facts

Off to a deserted island - which three things would you take with you? A flint to have it a bit warmer in the evenings and to be able to cook. A tent for protection against wind and weather. Crime novels to distract myself a little.

Who is your biggest role model? I don't really have a role model, but I find Allyson Felix's running style impressive.

When I'm not training, you can find me… with my family or my friends.

What "secret" is there still about you? As a child, I wanted to join the SEK at the police.

Louise in the Interview

1. What sport do you do and how did you get into it?

I participate in athletics in the short sprint discipline, namely 100 m and 200 m. Back then, as a seven-year-old, I watched an international competition on TV and then told my parents that I wanted to do that too. A few weeks later, I had my first competition.

2. What makes your sport special?

The combination of speed and the feeling of having to deliver at the right moment repeatedly creates a thrill that makes the short sprint so special.

3. What has been your greatest sporting achievement so far

The World Championships with the 4x100m relay finishing in 6th place this year were very special for me, but also the German Championship title in the 200m indoors was a highlight.

4. How do you deal with the "hole" after a big competition?

In addition to physical recovery with light exercise, yoga, and physiotherapy, mental recovery is also important to me to recharge properly. That's why I like to meet up with friends or read a good book to mentally unwind a bit.

5. What is your hobby outside of sports?

I meet with friends, enjoy reading crime novels, and cook new recipes.

6. What motivates you to get up every day?

Besides my studies, I am looking forward to the training itself because we are a great training group that always motivates me to go to the limit. In addition to the group, the goals for the next season, with a European Championship and the Olympic Games, are also a great motivation.

Everything about Recovery

1. What does perfect regeneration look like for you?

Especially after hard tempo runs, I like to go into the ice bath first and then into the Reboots. After other sessions, I also like to roll out and do a bit of yoga. Of course, good nutrition and enough sleep are also part of the recovery after hard sessions.

2. When do you like to use your Reboots the most?

After hard tempo runs, the Reboots help a lot in getting the legs back in shape faster.

3. How important is the topic of "Regeneration" to you?

Regeneration is indispensable in competitive sports to be able to perform in training and competition. Therefore, I always try to take time for regeneration after the actual training sessions to optimally prepare the body.

4. What is your insider tip for using the Reboots?

I like to use the Intense Pulse program for 30-45 minutes relatively soon after the training session. The pressure intensity must be chosen individually, depending on what is comfortable.

5. What do you occupy yourself with while you are in the Reboots?

It depends. If I have time, I like to read a book or watch a series, otherwise I also use the time to do a bit of work for university.

6. What does the perfect day look like for you?

In the morning, a training session, preferably a technique session, followed by some regeneration with physio and the Reboots, and then a relaxed afternoon with a series or a book, and cooking with friends in the evening.
